It had better fit, finish and function at 1/3rd the price. No.
None of the problems in the previous negative reviews have been addressed. The screws are still weak and line up poorly with their holes. The jig won't square to the saw blade---the recommended squaring method is to loosen the mitre guide screws and retighten.
The only good thing I can say about this jig is that I bought it from Amazon and they took it back and paid for shipping. And the product description implies the work plate tilts to 45 degrees.
But the jig is too far out of square for that to work. The paint is still dorky.
It tilts to 78 degrees only.My previous tenonning jig from Grizzley was lost in a move. Buy the Grizzley over the Delta.
I have asked for other solutions several more times and have not received a reply. I have written the seller, Temberline, numerious times. The tendoning jig doesn't fit my Craftsman table saw. Now I have been requesting a return authorization, and still with no reply. I was finally told to grind the washers off that are located at the end of the guide. This will void any warranty. This seems to be a great tool but is usless to me without a proper solution to fitting it to my table saw.I have jst purchased a Delta mortising jig that works fine.David E. Formby
The Delta 34-184 Universal-Deluxe Tenoning Jig didn't fit my Table saw. They shipped very qickly and was satisfied with the service. However the jig didn't fit.
This has been reviewed as the best Tenoning jig and this source was at least $20 below other market costs and was delivered quickly and in perfect shape.
This seems strange since most saws are now left tilt. Even after I got the packing grease off, the paint was not the same color. Having two handles on the tool promotes safe operation. Minor gripe, but it goes towards quality.Operation: The design is excellent. If the tool is built using a CNC machine, it should be impossible. When I re-assembled the tool, I could not square it to the table.
The holes were drilled out of allignment in the base. It is beyond me how that happens. As most will attest, the tool comes set for a right tilt saw. I own several Delta tools - DJ-20 jointer, variable speed grinder, protable bench jointer, 12 1/2" portable planer. What's up with the paint. Even on the same part. I hope Delta gets their act together and focuses on quality.
(What was the quality inspector doing when this mistake went by). This operation requires you to remove the guide and adjuster and relocate the guide to another set of pre-drilled holes. The clamp bar allows adjustment front to back so clamping pressure can be placed exactly where you want it. Delta must be using low skilled laborers to manually drill the holes, that's the only way it could happen. So, off to my drill press to open up the hole. Use an accurate square when setting up your cuts just to be sure.I believe this tool is the best in class, but the fit and finish could be better. They need to get back to their former glory.
